Lab 7: Health Insurance in NumbersHealth Insurance as we all should know it is an insurance that is very important for everyone or at least every household to have. A couple of classmates and I read on the website that in regards to health insurance in Michigan, 5.8% of Michigan residents don’t have health insurance, while 14.3% of Michigan residents live with a disability. I looked back at the responses I got to the questions who do you get your health insurance through, does your health insurance cover disabilities, and do you know anyone or did you ever gotten refused health insurance due to a disability on Facebook. I saw that for the first question who do you get your health insurance through 4 people checked Self-Funded while 9 people checked Employer. Then for the second question does your health insurance cover disabilities 7 checked maybe, 3 checked no, and 3 checked yes. For the third question do you know anyone or did you ever gotten refused health insurance due to a disability 6 checked no, 3 checked maybe, and 4 checked yes. From the results I got from Facebook alone we can see that most people get their health insurance through employer, many don't know if their health insurance covers disabilities, and many people didn't get rejected health insurance due to a disability. A thing I noticed is that many people didn't get rejected health insurance due to disability but there is still some people that have gotten rejected so this needs to be improved so that many people with disabilities can get health insurance. I also noticed that the insurance companies should tell their customers if their health insurance covers disabilities or not because according to my Facebook crowdsourcing results 7 out of 13 people checked maybe which means they aren't sure if their health insurance covers disabilities. The results on Instagram that the people I worked with got was of similar status to the Facebook results. I then went back to the article on the Census Bureau website to look at the health insurance data on the United States. I found out that in 2019 in the United States about 68.0 and 34.1% of the population at some point during the year had Private (Self-insured) health insurance. While the percentage of people with employer-provided coverage was about 55.4 % of the population during time of the interview. These information helped me as a citizen that don't really look at these statistics know that many more people are now getting employed and can get their health insurance that way. What I learned from this research was that many people in Michigan and the united states get their health insurance through their employers and that customers of health insurance companies should be informed on if their health insurance covers disabilities. #HealthInsurance

Lab 6: Video StoryI Use It- Electric Baking Pan Recommendation VideoOn this episode of "I Use It" I would be interviewing my mother on a thing she uses often and would recommend to a friend. She chose to recommend the Electric Baking Pan a product that she always uses to make all kinds of pancakes for our family to eat. It is really multifunctional and portable. I would recommend it to every one that loves to bake but hate having to use the oven. #ElectricBakingPan#IUseIt |
